A question that has affected humanity ever since. The project seeks an answer to that question in literature. It tells a story about the deepest Sehnsüchte of humankind: Love, enlightenment and the fulfillment of both in death. The interactive shadow theatre captures scenically the essence of these topics. The story is build of snippets from the works of Shakespeare, Goethe, Novalis and other important authors, which together merge into something new. With the touch of the fabric, one can interact with the story itself, creating a mystical and sensitive experience. "Sehnsucht" is a German word for which there is no exact English translation. It describes the feeling of nostalgia or a deep longing for something that is not reachable.
